Proper Attire For The Otago Golf Club
Recommended attire:
Men and Boys:
Dress shirts, collared golf shirts, or sport shirts with sleeves, turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks, sweaters and sweater vests, golf jackets, golf shorts, Bermuda shorts, walking shorts (mid-thigh length), traditional slacks, and khakis. Hats and caps should be worn with the bill facing forward.
Women and Girls:
Sleeved or sleeveless blouses, shirts or golf shirts with or without a collar, turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks, sweaters, sweater vests, jackets and golf jackets and pullovers, golf shorts, Bermuda shorts, walking shorts (mid-thigh length), golf skirts, skorts, capri pants, golf slacks, and golf dresses. Hats and caps should be worn with the bill facing forward.
Dress Jeans are not permitted on Saturday's or during Tournaments - through out the week leniency is given as long as they're classy.
Unacceptable Attire:
-
Gym shorts or workout attire.
-
Cargo shorts/pants.
-
Basic tank tops, halter tops, or midriff tops.
-
Cut-off pants or jeans.
-
Overalls, cargo pants, carpenter’s pants, and sweatpants.
-
Excessively large or inappropriate logos on clothing.
-
Micro-mini skirts (with the exception of appropriate tennis skirts used as a crossover for golf). Our standard is set by the typical length of golf shorts/skorts.
-
Any other clothing deemed inappropriate or unsightly by the Pro Shop, members, or other guests.
These are not permitted on the golf course, practice fairway, or putting green. You will be asked to return with other appropriate attire, purchase appropriate clothing from the golf shop, or refused entry onto the course if the standard is not met.
